Darren Harland hit his second century in as many games as Scarborough earned a winning draw at Stamford Bridge in the York Senior League premier division, while Scarborough 2nds won by 93 runs at home to New Earswick and Flixton had a losing draw at Bridlington.

Harland followed up his unbeaten Bank Holiday Monday ton in Scarborough’s win at home to Studley Royal with 104 at Bridge, with valuable support coming from Mark Tennant’s 61 as the visitors posted 226-7 from their 50 overs.

Matthew Beckett was the pick of the home bowling attack with 4-63.

Stuart Boyle hit 67 in reply with Yorkshire batsman Will Rhodes adding 27 and Simon Tennant 35 but the home side were forced to hang on with 183-9 for a draw, Theo Smith snapping up 3-60.

Scarborough 2nds earned a 93-run home success in division three south against New Earswick.

The North Marine Road club batted first and set their visitors 187 to win from 45 overs with skipper Mark Cowell top scoring for the hosts hitting a fine 73.

Earswick, who had won the toss earlier however, never looked likely to chase down their target collapsing to 93 all out, exactly half of their hosts total.

The game though will be remembered for two potential new stars being born as two 14-year-olds shared seven wickets for Scarborough as David Snowball, 3-31, and Harrison Wood, 4-22, starred with the ball.

Flixton claimed a losing draw at Bridlington in division one.

The hosts posted 279-7, Casey Rudd smashing a superb 108, with support coming from Simon Leeson’s 26 and Richard Lount’s 25, plus Nick Tennant’s 55.

Jamie Nesfield was the star Flixton bowler with 5-57.

Nick Zakrzewski’s 66, allied to 50 from ex-Heslerton batsman Anthony Stones and 32 from Matthew Nesfield steered the visitors to 231-6.
