SCARBOROUGH’S Adam Lyth is relishing a return to his home turf when Yorkshire visit North Marine Road over the next week.

On Sunday the Tykes face Durham Dynamos in the t20 competition followed by a four day LV County Championship division one clash with Worcestershire from Monday. And 23-year-old left handed batsman Lyth is hoping to score plenty of runs on his old stomping ground.

He said:”It is always a privilege to play at Scarborough because it is where I grew up playing the game and I know the pitches very well.

“I always get a special reception there too which is nice and it is great to get a big score there.

“We as a club always enjoy playing at Scarborough and there is a great atmosphere when the weather is good and I think the T20 match is a brilliant way to get the crowds in.”

The match with Worcestershire is a must-win game for the Tykes who have struggled in division one so far this campaign and find themselves second from bottom, just five points behind the Royals.

Lyth added: “It is our first county championship game for a while, but it is definitely a very important one as we need to get some points on the board.

“It would be brilliant to get our season really up and running at Scarborough and I can’t wait to get out there now.”
