Mini Friars Hill event is a winner

There were gold medals to be won at Friars Hill Stables mini one-day event which was held for yard members at Sinnington on Sunday.

Competitors enjoyed a break from the wet weather and were able to enjoy a cross country course with good conditions seeing plenty of clear rounds, although some of the fences proved to be a bit more interesting for some horses more used to the showjumping arena!

Alison Champion won the pre-novice class on her talented highland Molly with Sue Bell claiming the gold medal in the novice class riding Quest.

Adults and children of various abilities competed together which provided a fun and friendly competition which was enjoyed by everyone who took part.

Fran Mason, who came third in the pre-novice class on her ex-racehorse Ronnie said: “It was a really fun event and it was great to finally be able to do some cross country riding which we all really enjoyed.”

Every competitor received a medal with the top placed riders in each class receiving theirs on the winner’s podium.

Due to the success of the event there are plans to hold another over the Christmas holidays, weather permitting.
