Flixton dressage rider and trainer Natalie Widdowson has been going from strength to strength in the dressage arena with her talented chestnut gelding Gorgeous George.
The pair have just returned from the British Dressage Senior Inter Regional competition at The College Equestrian Centre in Keysoe, Bedfordshire, where Natalie was representing the North as an individual rider in the advanced medium championship.
The two-day competition was host to 26 teams from across the country and the level of competition was high, with the most talented riders and horses selected to represent their region at national level.
Natalie was selected alongside Cara Shardlow, who runs Beckside Livery Stables at Sneantonthorpe, who was competing on Rhythmic Times. Both riders had a successful weekend with Natalie and George winning the warm up class and finishing reserve champion, while Cara was third in the warm up and finished seventh in the advanced medium class.
“George was fantastic all weekend and is really enjoying the advanced work, so we will be doing our first ever prix st George in a couple of weeks,” said Natalie, who also wanted to thank her sponsor Premier Equine Supplies from Snainton for their ongoing support.
