Ten teams enjoyed a great day’s golf in glorious sunshine as Yorkshire Coast Homes hosted their first charity tournament at North Cliff GC.
Sponsors Baker Mallett, Hayes, MJ Builders and Transtool helped to ensure that all the visiting golfers enjoyed first- class Scarborough hospitality and that the winners were well rewarded for their efforts with an array of trophies and prizes.
The event raised in excess of £2,000 for local charities and looks set to become a regular fixture in the Scarborough golfing calendar.
Overall winners were the Baker Mallet team from Stockton who received the first YCH tournament shield.
Runners-up received trophies, while prizes were also awarded to the longest drive and nearest the pin competition winners.
Joint organiser of the event Andy Turner said: “With the fantastic weather we had in Scarborough on Monday and the superb facilities and hospitality provided by North Cliff Golf Club, our first Charity Golf Day was always going to be a winner.
“It was great to see how much all of the teams enjoyed their time with us while also helping to raise funds for the 10 charities we’re supporting as we celebrate our 10th anniversary this year.
“It’s definitely a measure of the success of this inaugural event that we’re already taking bookings for next year’s competition.”
