A HOLIDAYMAKER is today asking readers if they also spotted anything unusual hovering in the sky above Muston earlier this month.
It is just one of a spate of unidentified flying object sightings across the Scarborough area in recent months.
Barry Liles, 60, and his wife were travelling by taxi back to their touring caravan in the village when they saw a large white object at least 50ft above the ground.
He said it had two bright lights and he estimated that it was about two and a half times the size of an average caravan.
"We wound the window down but there was no noise," he added.
The sighting was at 11pm on Tuesday August 4, when he was returning from a Chinese meal with his wife and the taxi driver had just pulled up at a crossroads on the edge of Muston.
He added that he reported the matter to Filey Police but they had received no other sightings. He said: "It'd be most reassuring to me if somebody else saw it. It was most definitely not an optical illusion. I've been going to Muston for years so I know the area."
