FILEY’S ever-changing landscape is the focus of an annual exhibition in the town.

Filey At Work is now in its sixth year and is currently displaying the varying trades and employment seen in the town during the last 100 years.

The exhibition, organised by Catherine Welch with assistance from Filey Archives, offers a detailed insight into the differing jobs in Filey throughout the last century.

She said: “We want people to come and have a look at the exhibition and see what Filey was like all of those years ago.

“It allows everyone to see how life has changed and how jobs, technology and the places around the town are so different to what they used to be.

“We also want everyone to help identify the models of cars in a picture from 1965 and also see if anyone remembers the big fair which used to come to Filey during the 1950s and was based on the site of what is now the Brig Shopping Centre.”

The exhibition is based in Filey Library, in Station Avenue, and will run for two weeks.
