PERFORMERS in Hunmanby are hoping to serve up a treat during their latest production.

The actors and actresses from Hunmanby Drama Group are busily rehearsing for their new play, Turning The Tables, which takes place this month.

Focusing on a London couple who leave the big city behind for a slice of village life, the production follows their trials and tribulations as they bite off more than they can chew trying to get a foothold in the food industry.

Director Bob Hartwell, who has written the play, said preparations had gone well with the nine strong cast and behind the scenes crew working furiously to make sure everything is ready for the opening night.

He said: “The couple have a dream of turning their new cafe into a French restaurant but somehow manage to acquire a cook and waitress which makes it all the more difficult.

“We auditioned in January and been rehearsing twice a week since then and have had the backstage people in nearly all of that time too to get everyone used to the running of the show.”

The production takes place between Thursday, May 12 and Saturday, May 14 in Hunmanby Community Centre, from 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from Boots and Hunmanby Pantry, in Bridlington Street.
