FILEY School have cast all the major roles for their spring musical extravaganza, Bugsy Malone.
It follows auditions at the school last week, which the Mercury was on hand to witness.
Talented youngsters were evidently in fine song on the day, as, on the school website, headteacher Mr Dickinson confirmed that all the principal roles in the musical had now been cast.
However, youngsters hoping to take part in the musical still can, as Mr Dickinson told the Mercury last week that he needs students to assist in the production of the play.
The list of students cast in the play is available from Mr Chatto in the music room.
Rehearsals are set to start “very soon”, and are expected to last three months.
They will be gruelling, with students rehearsing at weekends and over the Easter holidays for the shows, which take place on April 18, 19 and 20 at the school.
The musical is based on the 1976 iconic film of the same name.
It’s set in prohibition era Chicago in the 1920s, and is loosely based on the exploits of real gangsters such as Al Capone and Bugs Moran. The cast is made up entirely out of children and teenagers.
