TALENTED youngsters from Filey School spent the festive period entertaining townsfolk in a series of carol concerts.

Members of the 25-strong chamber choir gave note-perfect renditions of festive classics in the lead-up to Christmas.

The vocal group rounded off a successful year by stealing the show at Filey School’s annual carol concert last month.

The choir were joined on stage by Filey School choir, as well as the school orchestra for a concert that was branded “outstanding” by the school’s headteacher, Mr Dickinson.

In the Filey School newsletter, Mr Dickinson praised the show, adding: “It takes a lot of work to prepare for and put together an event like the carol concert.

“All student performers are to be commended for their hard work and dedication.

“I would like to extend thanks to Mr Chatto.

“Without his talent, dedication, patience and support our students would not have had the opportunity to excel at events such as this.”

“Well done everyone and thank you for helping to bring the magic of Christmas to our school.”

Classes at Filey School start again on Monday, following the Christmas break.
