FORMER Filey Redcoats are set to remember the good old days in another special reunion.
Staff from the now defunct holiday camp will celebrate their ‘hi-de-hi’ years in the classic British holiday industry in Scarborough next year.
The announcement comes after a recent successful reunion in Scarborough’s Grand Hotel, which brought former Redcoats from as far as Tenerife, Florida and Australia together for old-fashioned fun.
Rocky Mason, the former Leisure and Amenities Manager at Filey Butlins, helped organise the event and said it had been a great success.
He said: “The reunion was a phenomenal success with well over 100 people in attendance.
“Organist Dave Clegg played for the three shows, which included a Redcoat Cabaret and Old Time Music Hall. “The Grand Hotel has been booked again for a repeat next year and the dates are October 12-15.
“It is anticipated that due to the popularity of the recent reunion the next will attract well in excess of 200 people.
“For many of the guests, some from Scotland and south Wales, it was their first visit to Scarborough and they all expressed a liking for the town and a desire to visit again next year.”
An announcement on next year’s event will be made soon.
