A PARAGLIDER made the most of the breezy weather to soar across Filey last weekend.

The pilot gently drifted along from Filey Country Park over Coble Landing, to the beach and back.

Pilots often fly off the cliffs at Primrose Valley, but flying from the country park is more unusual.

Developed from parachuting canopies, paragliders are more portable and easier to fly.

According to the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association: “Many paraglider pilots strive to perfect their skills in cross-country flying.

“A summer sky filled with fluffy cumulus clouds provide abundant – but invisible – lifting currents which pilots use to gain altitude.”
