Flamborough RNLI have confirmed that a body was found in the water at the bottom of Bempton Cliffs on Sunday morning.
Weather conditions were overcast but the seas were smooth and the casualty was found just after 9am near an area known locally as Crab Rocks, about 50 metres offshore.
Unfortunately the casualty was deceased and at the request of Humberside Police Flamborough RNLI transported the casualty to Flamborough South Landing.
The coastguard have passed on their thoughts to the deceased persons family.
The name of the casualty has not yet been released by the police.
