TELEVISION viewers in Filey and Hunmanby who don’t have a clear picture of the digital switchover have been assured help is at hand.
Officials from Digital UK are holding two roadshows in the Evron Centre, in Filey, to offer advice on the changes.
Hunmanby’s relay transmitter began broadcasting BBC digital channels for the first time this week as BBC Two services were stopped on analogue feed.
The roadshows will take place on Wednesday, August 17, and Thursday, August 18, from 10am until 4pm to inform viewers of the second wave of changes on August 17.
In this phase, all remaining analogue channels – BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 – will be permanently switched off and replaced with additional digital services.
Bill Haworth, Digital UK’s assistant regional manager, said: “Nine out of 10 people have already switched.
“Retuning is the big message – it’s part of the freeview landscape – we know to retune regularly.”
“All televisions will convert, we converted one from the 1930s last year.”
