POPPY Appeal organisers across Filey and Hunmanby have been invited to help celebrate the 90th anniversary celebration of the Royal British Legion.
The Great Poppy Party Weekend takes place next weekend and organisers want people to get into the spirit and throw a party for the occasion.
Events on the day can be varied and as different as you like and all money raised will go towards meeting the Legion’s £90 million target.
Colin Northridge, North Yorkshire County Chairman, said the charity’s work was crucial to helping families of those caught up in conflicts across the world.
He added: “We have made a £50 million funding commitment to pay for The Royal British Legion Battle Back Centre and the operating costs of a wider Personnel Recovery Capability for ten years.
“It will be a national centre of excellence for activity based rehabilitation to help wounded, injured and sick Armed Forces personnel regain their fitness and return to duty, or re-skill and make a successful transition to civilian life.”
