Probus members in Filey are set to be entertained by the distinctive sound of Gilbert and Sullivan tunes and songs next week.
Bill Scott and Company will give a performance in front of club members, their wives and guests at the club’s next meeting next Wednesday (17 May).
They are booked to present a special performance entitled “The wonderful world of Gilbert and Sullivan” at the club’s regular meeting in Filey’s Masonic Hall on Rutland Street.
The mini show is just one of a number of social occasions following its spring lunch at the Expanse Hotel, Bridlington.
A coffee morning has been arranged for Wednesday 5 July and the autumn lunch is in the diary for Wednesday 13 September.
The traditional Christmas lunch will be on Wednesday 6 December 6 and the annual carol festival in St Oswald’s Church will be a week later.
Last month members heard guest speaker James Hodgson explain the intricacies of working as a commercial lawyer in London, dealing with the protection of trademarks, copyright and patents.
At the club’s first meeting in May, Filey artist Jane Poulton spoke of her work based at Liverpool’s two cathedrals and of her artistic and community-based ventures.
