Michael Coulson is backing fellow Scarborough lad Jonathan Greening and Richard Cresswell to excel in the world of coaching.
Greening and Cresswell, who originally hails from Bridlington, took charge of Coulson at York City for one match last season, before the pair were replaced by current Bootham Crescent boss Jackie McNamara.
Coulson has now moved on to play for St Johnstone in the Scottish Premier, while Greening and Cresswell are heavily involved with roles at both the I2I Academy and Tadcaster Albion.
The attacker said: "I thought that when they came in and took over it was brilliant, they had some great ideas.
"Training was based towards the game ahead of us at the weekend, as players we were all getting a bit excited by their methods.
"They took charge for the game at Crawley and I haven't got a clue how we lost it, then after that they were replaced.
"I was hoping they would succeed at York, but I'm confident they'll both make great coaches and beyond in the future."
