Crash driver ‘seriously injured’

A driver has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after flipping his car near Pickering.

Firefighters were needed to free the driver from the wreckage of his Citroen Relay after the sole-occupant crashed it in Newton on Rawcliffe,

A passer-by found the car turned upside down in Low Moor Road at 12.32pm today.

Police say the driver was “seriously injured”, and local diversions have been put in place as officers clear crash debris from the road.

Witnesses or anyone with information that could assist the investigation, should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.
