Man accused of brass theft

A FILEY man has appeared in court charged with stealing brass fittings worth £165 from a Scarborough amusement arcade.

Christopher Hide, 22, of Union Street, and Robert Edward Clark, of Scarborough, are alleged to have carried out the theft on December 8.

During a brief hearing at Scarborough Magistrates Court, Hide reserved his plea and Clark denied the charge.

The case was adjourned until April 15 when it is expected the matter will be committed to crown court.
