A DROP-IN will be held at Filey Library between 10am and noon on Wednesday to explore the possible formation of a U3A, or University of the Third Age, in Filey.

U3A is a learning co-operative of older people which enables members to share many educational, creative and leisure activities.

It provides a full range of activities for men and women no longer in full-time employment, drawing upon the knowledge, experience, and skills to organise interest groups, in accordance with members wishes. No qualifications are required and none are given.

There are currently more than 760 U3A’s in the UK, with over 250,000 individual members.

Anyone interested is invited to go along to the library for a chat.

l Plans are also afoot to establish a U3A in Hunmanby. For more information, visit the stall at today’s Health Day at Hunmanby Community Centre or see next week’s Mercury.
