FILEY archivist Eric Pinder has appealed for help in his bid to collect old programmes from the Christian Holiday Crusade.
Thousands of people flocked to the Butlins Camp in Filey when the event was held at the venue from 1955 until the camp closed in the early-1980s.
The crusade, which transferred to Skegness and was renamed New Horizon following the camp's closure, combined holiday fun with bible teaching.
Mr Pinder is researching its history to help another local man, Michael Weir, of Queen Street, compile an article on the attraction.
Mr Pinder said: "Every year there was a programme printed to go with the event and I am hoping to get a collection of them together.
"It would be very helpful if people could bring their old programmes to me. I could make a copy of them if necessary."
If anyone has old programmes from the Filey Christian Holiday Crusade and would like to help Mr Pinder in his efforts they should bring them to the archive at the town council offices in Queen Street.
