A home interiors shop in Filey has given a big boost to Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Katie Malone House and Home in John Street held a three-day fundraising event after the Easter weekend and raised an impressive £404.41.
The event featured a tombola and cake sale, with sweet treats baked by a kind-hearted customer.
Local businesses also showed their support by donating prizes, such as vouchers for meals out, travel and afternoon tea.
Lesley Womersley, owner of Katie Malones, said: “We did a similar event last year for our tenth year of trading and it was such a success that we decided to do it again.
“We wanted to beat last year’s total and we did so by about £50, so we were delighted. People are really supportive of the air ambulance.
“It’s a local charity and you never know when you’re going to need it.”
She added: “Everyone enjoyed the event - it was really good fun.
“It was lovely seeing people’s faces when they won a prize.”
