Five generations celebrate Jack's 90th

FIVE generations of the same family came together in Hunmanby to celebrate the 90th birthday of Jack Clough.

Mr Clough, who lives with his daughter Pat Ward in Bridlington Street, was delighted to be joined by about 20 members of his extended family for a surprise party last Saturday.

The youngest of the clan was great-great-granddaughter Chloe Ward, two, who is pictured with great-granddaughter Kelly Ward, 21, grandson Simon Ward, 44, and Pat Ward, 65.

Mrs Ward and her late husband moved to Hunmanby 29 years ago and were more recently joined by Jack, who moved to the area from Bradford 10 years ago. Other members of the close-knit family arrived from Gristhorpe, Hull, Bradford and Denby Dale, near Barnsley, for the celebration.

Mrs Ward, whose daughter Melanie couldn't make it, said it was her son Simon who suggested capturing the moment for posterity.

She said: "We can trace our family back five or six generations and amazingly enough every one has seen four generations living at the same time. This is the first time we've had five."
