Group reform in fight to save village library

THE group formed to save Hunmanby Library is set to hold its first meeting.

The Hunmanby Hub Steering Group - formed from the Friends of Hunmanby Library - will get together to discuss plans in the parish council chamber on Tuesday, August 30.

A public meeting in All Saints Church last week revealed proposals to transform the current library provision into a multi-facility resource centre which would be renamed the Hunmanby Hub, which were unanimously carried over.

The new group has said it now hopes to work alongside North Yorkshire County Council and the community to develop the plans into a viable business plan which is attractive to funders.

The meeting, which starts at 7pm, is not a public meeting.

However, anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the Steering Group is encouraged to attend.

The meeting will also be formally adopting a constitution and electing officers of the group.
