A Royal Military Police veteran from Hunmanby was congratulated by The Duke of York as he graduated from the Forces Media Academy.
Joe Healey, who served for five years, was among the first intake of students who started at the Academy last September.
The Forces Media Academy offers service veterans the opportunity to study for a Higher National Certificate qualification in Creative Media Production, to gain access to an industry where historically people with a military background have been under-represented.
Joe said: “I’ve loved this course as it’s opened up so many doors for me – I’m still pinching myself. It’s been great to meet other people from similar backgrounds with similar aspirations.
“I’ve found the transition from military to media really enjoyable – I’ve been so passionate about the subject that it hasn’t seemed like work at all. I’ve now got a job working in digital media, so without this course I wouldn’t be embarking on my dream career.”
The Services Sound and Vision Corporation, of which HRH has been Patron since 2003, established the academy last year at its headquarters in Buckinghamshire, which was opened by The Duke in 2017.
