Last week I had a walk round the Northside of Scarborough and could not help but notice the old rusty chairlift stanchions which have not been in use for some 20 years.
I have since contacted my local councillor for the area who contacted the council and reply came back that “The council have not got enough money to dismantle them.”
Yet they can find £9m for other North Bay developments on terms which have never been made clear as far as I am aware, ie grant or fully secured loan?
Clarification would be helpful.
And then the £4m to pull down the Futurist and stabilise the land behind.
As mentioned it is at least 20 years since the chairlift closed. Are we going to wait another 20 before these rusty relics are removed?
