May I thank all the volunteers who have helped clean up our streets, parks and beaches this summer to make it the lovely place we all want to live in and attractive for visitors.
In particular there is Freda, from Trinity Road, along with the Friends of South Cliff Gardens and the South Bay beach volunteers, who worked an hour every night through the holidays to tidy up those left over plastic bottles, buckets and spades.
I should also not forget to mention the Surfers Against Sewage group who do a beach blitz every so often. We live in a world of disposable plastic and packaging and in a society where not everyone cares about what happens to it.
Thanks to local volunteers we can keep our town looking great.
