PLANS for a new doctor’s surgery in Hunmanby are back on the drawing board.
Scarborough Council bosses has backed moves to extend planning permission for a 660 sq metre facility with a 24 space car park in Sands Lane.
The decision stipulates any work must be carried out within the next three years.
The move is a welcome relief for the village’s health infrastructure following the closure of Hunmanby Clinic last year.
A report from Jill Low, Scarborough Council’s Planning Manager, said: “Written confirmation is expected from the applicant, Ashley House, that there is still an essential need for a new doctor’s surgery to replace the existing building which can no longer accommodate the necessary facilities.
“The development is considered to produce an acceptable building which will complement the character and appearance of its surroundings.”
