A HUNMANBY archaeologist who led a sensational discovery of Britain’s oldest surviving house will be passing on her experiences next week.
Dr Nicky Milner, who went Hunmanby Hall School and grew up in Hunmanby Gap, will be talking about the historic Stone Age wooden hut found at Star Carr, near Flixton, last year.
Dr Milner will be speaking during a talk organised by the Friends of Filey Bay Initiative in the Evron Centre conference room on Thursday, from 7pm.
The group have also organised a general knowledge fun evening in the Evron Centre, on Saturday, February, 19.
Organisers want teams of up to six people to take part, with quizmaster Catherine Welch ready to put people to the test with a raft of difficult questions.
Players can just turn up on the evening and are welcome to bring a bottle.
The events are free and all monies raised will be pumped back into the group’s fundraising efforts.
For more information about either event contact Catherine Welch on (01723) 516602 or just go along on the evening.
