PLANS have been unveiled to transform a Reighton barn into holiday accommodation.
The proposals would see two holiday cottages built on the site of an existing outbuilding at The Willows, in North Burton Lane.
A statement from RDA Ltd, on behalf of the property owners, said the changes would be done sympathetically to match the existing building’s appearance.
The report said: “It is proposed to renovate as much of the original structure as possible and limit the amount of re-build.
“It is considered the proposed alterations and conversion to the existing outbuildings will enhance the current appearance of the buildings and the character of the surrounding area.
“The alterations are considered to be compatible with these factors and will, in fact, enhance the appearance of the existing site, whilst maintaining the rural character of the locality.
“The use of buildings as holiday accommodation can often exhibit similar characteristics as residential use.
“Such use can offer greater benefits to the rural economy and can sometimes be achieved with lower standards of amenity space or garden curtilage.”
