Filey calender hits the shops

A NEW range of calendars depicting historic views of Filey have been brought out in time for Christmas.

The sepia tinted, photographic calendars, produced by Scarborough Borough Council, contain period images from Filey’s Crimlisk Fisher Archives, and provide a fascinating insight into how the town once looked.

Steve Pike, Scarborough Council’s print manager who was responsible for the design of the calendars said: “The calendars make ideal Christmas presents for residents, who may remember how some of the local areas used to look, and for the younger generation who may not recognise their home town.

“It is the first time many of these old images have been reproduced and it has been fascinating putting them together to form a calendar; it feels like I’ve been travelling back in time.”
