Party’s plea for elections

PROSPECTIVE Conservative party members are being encouraged to stand in the forthcoming borough elections.

The party are looking for people who want to represent them in the Filey and Hertford wards on Thursday, May 5.

County Cllr Caroline Patmore, a vice chairman of the Thirsk and Malton Conservatives said: “It is important to the Conservative group on Scarborough Council that we have good strong, local candidates for the elections.

“The next four years will be very important for the Filey and Hertford wards in terms of the economy, helping create new jobs, and enhancing this important holiday area to ensure it continues to be buoyant in the present economic climate.”
