JUDGES have crowned this year’s winners at the Muston Scarecrow Festival.
The Toy Strawy display, by the Snell family, came out on top in both the official judges and visitors polls.
Dr Who and the Daleks, by Carol Gill was second in the judges category, with Jedward, by Mrs Dixon, earning the runner-up spot in the visitor’s choice.
Cllr Godfrey Allanson, who is on the Muston Scarecrow Committee, said he was delighted with this year’s event.
He said: “Thanks go to everyone that worked so hard to make it a success. It was one of the busiest we have had but the weather stayed fine and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time.”
Cllr Allanson said the festival had made it internationally with a South African newspaper reporting on the event.
He added there will be a public meeting in the village hall on Thursday, September 8, from 7pm, to discuss the event and the scope for next year’s festival as well as forming a new committee. Everyone is welcome.
