IT really is child’s play for youngsters in Reighton after the installation of new fun equipment.
The village’s children can now swing and slide to their heart’s content after the official opening of the play area next to Reighton Village Hall.
The equipment - which includes new swings, slides, a climbing frame and spinning tops - was funded by a £48,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund and came after tireless work from members and trustees of the Reighton Village Hall.
Ken Cooper, chairman of the committee, said they were thrilled with the play area and hoped youngsters would benefit from it.
He said: “We are all delighted the play area is finished, it took about 18 months and the committee worked really hard but it has been worth it.
“The children are thrilled with it too and we even had some come from Hunmanby to try out the play area.
“We used to have some other play equipment that dated back to around the 1950s but it had gone past its sell by date. However, this new equipment is just great.”
