Whatever our views on the result of the referendum, I think we could agree that the country is deeply divided. But if we are to have any sort of decent future, we must try to work together to achieve a fair and just outcome for all.
It is clear to me that a lot of our citizens are unhappy and without much hope for their future, and this is very sad. All our leaders must try to remedy this and give people good services and the chance of a life worth living, and we must help them by being unselfish and doing our best. I know that many are struggling just to manage day-to-day, and can do no more, but everyone can try to be polite and considerate towards all whom they meet.
Sadly, I have heard of some non-British people among us, and some disabled people, feeling under threat from people’s words or actions. This will not make for a contented society.
It is not worthy of Great Britain, and it is not worthy of Scarborough. Please be kind.
