Scarborough Athletic fans will have to dig deeper to watch their side in action at Queensgate this season.

Full-price admission to the ground will go up from £9 to £10, with concessions at £6, while the 'Kids Go Free' scheme will be replaced by 'Kids For A Quid' for any junior aged 11 and under.

Season ticket prices are as follows for the 2016/17 season: Adults: £180 Concessions: £105 Kids: £15

A club statement read: "At a recent board meeting the new pricing strategy and structure for our final season playing away from Scarborough was agreed.

"As it has been well documented, the club suffered on and off the pitch last season, which led to the creation of the 'Fighting Fund Scheme'.

"Currently the club have raised circa £20k to the fund, however this is still short of its initial target.

"The board have pledged to take decisive action to redress the situation and make relevant changes to ensure the club can return back to Scarborough in the strongest possible shape both on and off the field.

"The first of these measures to help support the club cover costs of playing a further season out of the town was to increase all the gate admission prices across the board by £1.

"The potential impact for the 2016/17 season on our fans would be a maximum additional total cost of £21 to attend all home league matches.

"There are savings to be made and benefits attached to becoming a Season Ticket holder for the upcoming season to help fans with the impact of the £1 rise on the gates.

"We hope that our fan base will support us in numbers over the coming campaign which will see the club working hard off the field to ensure everything is in place for Scarborough Athletic to play football back home in the 2017/18 season."
