Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk is over the moon with the mouthwatering clashes laid out in front of his side in the Evo-Stik North this season.
Boro kick off on August 16 at a Salford City side owned by Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers, a game that is followed by a derby home encounter against Harrogate Railway the following Tuesday.
But the big games will follow on Boxing Day at Darlington, New Year’s Day at home against Brighouse, and then on Bank Holiday Monday April 6 when Darlo will come to Queensgate.
“It is always nice when the fixtures come out, but this is just amazing,” said Funk.
“We were obviously delighted by our cup fixtures being at home, but when you are given a game at a Salford City side - boosted by the Manchester United connection - on the opening day, we are over the moon.
“The Darlington game on Boxing Day will be a Christmas cracker and then we have our old rivals Brighouse on New Year’s Day.
“Then to close the season off we have Darlington on Bank Holiday Monday, which is just brilliant news.
“Everything is going right for the club at the moment, there are so many positives and these fixtures have just added to them.
“I just hope that we can maintain this positivity when the season gets underway.”
