ELEVEN-year-old striker Olivia Hall is aiming to net a spot at the county’s school of excellence for next season.
The Cayton Corinthians Girls under-11s hot-shot has been invited to try out for the 2011/2012 season’s North Yorkshire Girls School of Excellence after a top season for the village team in the City of York Girls Football League.
Olivia, who attends Cayton Primary School, said: “I have only been playing for a year and a half so I am delighted to get this chance to play at the school of excellence.
“I used to play football at school then I signed up for Cayton Girls after going along to a few training sessions.
“I have also been to the North Riding FA courses for girls only - which are based up at Scarborough Sixth Form College, and I have enjoyed that a great deal.”
The Manchester United fan added: “I am also very keen on dancing and I play cricket during the summer months.”
Proud mum Gillian added: “She is looking forward to the trial for the school of excellence, which will be staged at York College.
“Olivia is a very talented dancer and goes to the Anne Taylor School of Dancing and has won many Latin and Ballroom competitions.
“She also plays for Cayton Cricket Club under-11s and is the only girl in the team.”
