Scarborough News Saturday League side FC Rosette celebrated winning the Division Three title in style with a friendly at Newcastle United’s St James’ Park ground.
Following their title success Rosette hired the 52,405-capacity arena for a friendly against Northallerton-based side Spennithorne & Harmby.
The Scarborough side ended up winning the clash on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
Newcastle United fan Louis Palmer missed the first penalty of the shoot-out, but luckily for him, keeper Mikey Harland proved to be the hero as he saved two efforts, leaving Al Wray to convert the winning pen.
“It was a fantastic experience and day our for everyone associated with FC Rosette," said club secretary Billy Cammish.
“It’s definitely something we’ll look to do again.”
