A full house at Scarborough RUFC enjoyed a superb evening as former Yorkshire and England fast bowler Darren Gough took to the stage at Scalby Cricket Club’s first fundraising dinner.
Former pace man Gough dazzled the 170-plus audience with tales of his career to date both on and off the field.
Scalby CC are trying to raise money to improve the access road to their Carr Lane ground and also to build a new pavilion further down the line.
Scalby secretary Phil Perry was delighted with how the evening went.
He said: “It was a sparkling evening at which Scalby CC’s players and guests, and all those present, were richly entertained by Gough, who was a star and was very funny on the night.
“Darren posed for lots of pictures afterwards which was great of him.”
