Scarborough Athletic chairman Dave Holland has been amazed by the amount of applications he has received for the vacant managers' job.
Following the departure of joint-bosses Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot by mutual consent, Holland has received up to 40 expressions of interest in the role, and the flood of applications doesn't look like slowing.
Holland and the rest of the board will be putting together a short-list over the next few days, though no timescale has been put on the making of an appointment.
Matty Bloor and Chris Bolder will now be in charge for the trip to Brighouse Town on Monday.
Holland said: "It is very easy to be dazzled by the high-quality CVs, and one or two have caught the eye, but we will not be rushed into anything because this appointment has to be right for the club.
"We didn't advertise, so because of that we have been staggered by the interest there has been in the role. The length and breadth has been very impressive, from local football and right up the football ladder.
"Things have settled down now after the Christmas period and we are happy that Matty and the rest of the players are okay.
"We'll now be sitting down over the next few days, but there is no timescale on this."
