Some long-awaited settled conditions greeted anglers for the Filey Brigg Angling Society summer open match sponsored by the Foords Hotel.
Despite the perfect weather 71 anglers found the going tough with wrasse more abundant than codling, with only 17 anglers making it back to the weigh-in.
Scarborough’s Luke Machan found the winning fish, a nice cod of almost 5lb to land the top prize of £200.
Filey boy Rhys Colling also located a fine cod from the golden tangles of Filey Brigg end to win the juvenile section and heaviest fish by a Filey Brigg Angling Society member with a £50 bounty.
