Natalie Widdowson and her horse Gorgeous George enjoyed success at the Northern Regional Championships earlier this month.
Natalie (36) and 10-year-oldGeorge finished as Reserve Champions at advanced medium level which has qualified them for the British Dressage National Championships at Stoneleigh in Septmeber.
Natalie said: “This is our biggest achievement to date as the national championships are a massive competition and I’ve never qualified before.
“We have been on super form this year and seem to be going from strength to strength.
“I was feeling confident for the competition but George is a bit of a hot-head and sometimes gets a bit of stage fright.
“However, he kept a level head and produced a good test.
“There were a few little mistakes but we were still good enough.”
Natalie, who is a feelance dressage trainer from Flixton and trains with Becky Moody has been no stranger to success aboard George during a very positive 2013.
Natalie added: “George and I have had a fantastic year and have just done our first few Prix St George level tests and have already qualified for the area festival at that level.”
