A tremendous away performance at Honley resulted in a terrific 5-3 victory for The Star, Cayton in week two of the Yorkshire Darts Super League Premiership season.

Toddy Oldfield was beaten 4-1 by the impressive Yorkshire star Jason Elvin in the night’s opening match but Simmy Cass recorded his first super league victory with a dominant 4-0 victory over Baz Holland to level the scores.

After an impressive performance in the BDO British Open where he reached the last 16 Jim Gordon continued his form with a man-of-the-match 4-1 victory over another county star Peter Jacques.

Gordon registered three 180s and a fine 96.68 average. The match was sealed in style as Gordon hit a sublime 13-darter.

John ‘Spooky’ Spoors put Star 3-1 up with a solid 4-2 win over Yorkshire legend Wayne Holland in the fourth match.

Spoors scored heavily and was deadly on the doubles as he registered a memorable victory.

Another remarkable performance from Scarborough’s finest was to follow as Graham ‘Genge’ Elvidge produced yet another high-quality showing in defeating Brian Hallas senior.

Elvidge was always in control as he opened with a 14-darter that included a 180 and sealed the match with a magnificent 146 (Treble 20,treble 18, double 16) out-shot for a 15-darter.

Cameron Spiller, despite registering a 180, was beaten 4-1 by Yorkshire player Brian Hallas junior.

Spiller unusually never really got going as Hallas produced a good solid performance in a deserved victory.

Blue Bulmer registered the match-winning point in match number seven. Another huge scoring performance resulted in a 4-2 win over the dangerous Nick Nunns.

A 123 (T19, 16, bull) outshot in the first leg set the tone as he powered to victory sealing the match with a tidy two-dart 96 out in the last.

Pickering’s Spadge Bointon was beaten 4-3 in a titanic tussle with Trevor Manning.

Doubles were missed by both players but Manning pinched the win with a tidy 14-darter in the decding leg.
