In a game that lasted just 22 overs, Cloughton 2nds eased to a 10-wicket win against Filey 2nds in Division Four.

Jacob Codling stunned the Filey 2nds batsmen with an outstanding spell of 6-18 which included a hat-trick, as he teamed up with Gary Jordan (2-9) to bowl the away side out for 46.

Sean Exley then smashed 37 not out in reply as Cloughton eased to a rapid 49-0.

In another low-scoring affair in Division Four, Cayton 3rds were hammered by Hospitals Rugby Club by nine wickets.

Cayton were all out for 47, Mark Kelly taking 5-22, before Steve Norris' 25 helped the away side to 48-1.

Another side who failed miserably with the bat were Sherburn 2nds, who were bowled out for just 26 at Wold Newton 2nds, Dave Stockdale (6-15) and Chris Hodgson (3-9) doing the damage.

Sherburn managed to take two wickets, but their lowly total was never going to be enough and Newton made it to 29-2.

Leaders Snainton were denied the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table as heavy downpours before the start of play caused their game at Lockton to be called off.

The top two in Division Three picked up victories.

Kirkbymoorside stay top after they beat Ryedale by 25 runs.

Kirkby posted 167-5, Martin Thompson (56no), Martin Charlton (37) and Jez Underwood (27no) hit the runs for the hosts before Ryedale were all out for 142, Neil Cowton hitting 35 and Steve Temple 30 as Ben Magson took 5-31.

Seamer 2nds are neck-and-neck with Kirkby on 117 points following their eight-wicket success against Muston.

Muston posted 169-7, Jamie McMillan (44no) and Phil Marr (31), but Dave Allen's 77 not out and 37 from Rob Lazenby helped Seamer to 170-2.

Another side who failed miserably with the bat were Heslerton 2nds, who were 58 all out in their defeat against Flamborough.

Harry Burton took 3-18 as Heslerton were dismissed with relative ease, before Luke Dixon (23no) and Andy Dixon (21no) helped Flamborough to 62-0.

Scott Wardman took 5-25 for Wykeham 2nds as they restricted Flixton 3rds for 106-9, despite Pete Hill's 27, before they made it safely to 107-5 in reply.

Valley Bar Nomads continued their charge for promotion from Division Five with a 141-run win against rock-bottom Scalby 3rds.

Nomads posted 246-3, Ben Atkinson taking centre-stage with a superb 128no, as Craig Best (64) and Anosh George (40) both weighed in with contributions.

Another batsman in form in Division Five was Forge Valley 3rds' Tim Farrant, who hit 89 in his side's 23-run win against Ravenscar 2nds.

Farrant's 89 helped Valley post 194-7, but it looked like Ravenscar were going to make it to the victory as Andy Edgar smashed 89 not out and Jon Stokoe was unbeaten on 64, but they fell short on 171-3.

Muston 2nds remain in second spot after they beat Thornton Dale 2nds by 59 runs.

Dave Meer hit an unbeaten 50 and Mark Precious added 35 as Muston posted 144-7, Tom Snowden taking 3-24 and Paul Waring 3-34.

Dale couldn't contend with the bowling of Gary Hanson though, as he took 4-16 to help skittle Dale for just 85 in reply.
