James Bryant smashed a rapid 71 not out to fire Wykeham to the top Division A in the AndyHire Evening Cricket League.

Bryant hammered 71 as he teamed up with James Bruce, 27, to knock off Filey’s total of 149-6 after Jamie Gilbank had hit an unbeaten 68 in the first innings.

The evening’s top-scorer was Ebberston’s Matty Turnbull, who hit 74 in his side’s six-wicket win against Ganton.

Ian Cousins, 49, and Rob Middlewood, 31, had contributed towards Ganton’s 136-7 as Sam Hardie did his best to restrict them with 4-37.

Turnbull’s knock helped Ebberston to 137-4.

Seamer beat Scalby by five wickets.

Adam Waugh’s unbeaten 37 and 32 from Paul Virr helped Scalby post 107-5, before Harry Holden hit 51 not out to help Seamer to 110-5.

Heslerton pulled off a shock win against Staxton.

Mark Dring, 4-40, helped halt Staxton’s innings on 116-7 despite Adam Hargreaves’ 26.

Stu Pickard, 53, and Gary Hall, 45, ensured Heslerton made it comfortably home.

Flixton remain unbeaten and are front-runners in Division B after a nerve-jangling two-wicket win against Sherburn.

Craig Sanderson hit a hefty 55 alongside Joel Wharton, 38, helped Sherburn to 136-6, Stuart Stocks taking 4-12.

In reply, Chris Mann hit 41 and Norman Shabir added 29 as Flixton seemed to be cruising, but 3-33 from Dan Simpson gave them hope.

Flixton managed to get over the line eight-down though to seal the win.

Swing bowler Aiden Thomas demolished Scarborough’s batting line-up with 4-17 to restrict them to 100-8 before James Ledden nudged his way to 42no to help Scalby B to victory.

Ryan Woodhead took 4-10 as Cayton beat Wykeham B by 20 runs.

Wykeham were favourites after Ian Spence’s 4-13 helped them skittle Cayton for just 89, but Woodhead then teamed up with James Ward, 3-13, to bowl Wykeham out for 68.

Nick Gibson, 29no, and Dave Rainton, 28, helped Cloughton to 62-1 in chasing down Seamer B’s 61 all out.

Ian Wright starred with the ball as Cayton B beat Wykeham C to stay unbeaten and at the top of the Division C table.

Wright helped dismiss Wykeham for 68 before they just about made it home on 72-7, Adam Brown unlucky to be on the losing side after taking 4-17.

Craig Hill hit 50 as Staxton B, 141-9, beat Forge Valley, 96 all out, despite Alex Glass hitting 31.

Seven-man Valley Bar Nomads were bowled out for just 58 in their defeat against Flixton B, who made it to 59-2 with Finlay Ward hitting 26no.

Niall Gibb, 48no, Liam Salt, 38, fired Cloughton B to 109-5 before they bowled Ravenscar out for just 56 in reply.

Ben Norman smashed 66no as Snainton, 136-2, beat Forge Valley B, 134-5.

Steven Boyes, 47, James Fox, 43, and John Flinton, 30no, had earlier hit runs for Valley.

Ebberston B, 76-4, won away at Muston, 75-7, by six wickets in the other game in Division C.
