We finish our home campaign against Bradford Salem this weekend, looking to give our supporters a win to reward their unwaivering loyalty.

The crowd at Malton for our derby game last weekend was brilliant, with a lot of our fans adding to the atmosphere.

The support that we get is excellent, the fans are a credit to the town, the club and the area, and they make for a good-natured atmosphere at Silver Royd on match days.

We are a good team but I feel that we have to apologize to the fans as we have not done ourself justice this season, due to a lot of injuries and in many cases these have occured to key players.

I know all teams get injuries but we have been severely weakened in key areas.

We need to be more consistent and hopefully another good performance on Saturday against Salem will this time earn us a victory.

We dominated for long spells on Saturday during the narrow defeat at Malton & Norton, who are second in the Yorkshire One league table and look set for a play-off spot.

We squandered a lot of chances of tries and this cost us dearly in the end. Their decision-making proved to be a bit better, but also you need a bit of luck to win these kind of tight matches.

Apart from their first play, which resulted in a try, we contained them for the rest of the game, as we took the fight to them and battled hard throughout.

In this case the best team lost, but you have to give credit to Malton as they managed to weather the storm and held on for the victory.
