SEAMER 3rds secured a 33-run home victory in a low-scoring contest against lowly Snainton 2nds.

Shaun Wood struck 46 and Steve Richardson 43 as the hosts were dismissed for 130.

Jonathan Maw scooped 5-32 and Jack Barrett 4-25 for the visitors.

Lindon Darby then grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck, taking 7-37 as Snainton limped to 97 all out.

Leaders Whitby 3rds eased to a nine-wicket win at home to Wombleton.

Garry Summerson took 5-27 to send Wombleton crashing to 61 all out, then an undefeated 30 from Steve Collier sealed the maximum-points win for the pacesetters.

Second-placed Fylingdales 2nds kept the pressure on Whitby 3rds with a 47-run success at home to Sewerby 3rds.

Will Barber, 55, Chris Shrimpton, 39, and John Fewster, 35, steered the hosts to 193-5, Andrew Rennoldson taking 4-50.

Sewerby’s Sam Coultas, 46, and Ian Dennis, 47, gave the visitors hope of earning victory, but fine bowling from Bill Estill, 6-65, saw them dismissed for 146.

Great Habton kept alive their slim chances of catching the top two with a 31-run win at home to Lockton 2nds.

Will Curtis top-scored with 31 for Habton as they stumbled to 117 all out, Simon Boyes grabbing 5-42.

The visitors then sank to 86 all out despite a defiant 43no from John Moxon, Curtis snapping up 5-10 to cap a fine personal display.

Jonny Hunter hit 33 and took 4-20 as Flixton 3rds claimed a 102-run home triumph against Thornton Dale 2nds.
