Three local teams will be bidding for a place in the North Yorkshire North final of the Davidstow Village Cup this weekend.
Readers Scarborough Beckett Premier League champions Staithes will play host to Ebberston on Sunday, with the winners of this clash at home to the victors of the Flixton v Sessay encounter, also being staged on Sunday, 1.30pm start.
Flixton were forced to work hard for their three-wicket win at Forge Valley in the previous round, with Rich Malthouse hitting a match-winning 87 and Harry Walmsley, Anthony Stones and Jamie Nesfield all on form with the bat, and spinner Chris Mann the pick of their bowling attack.
The York League Division One side will need to be on top form on Sunday against a Sessay side that has yet to lose in the York Premier Division and defeated Cayton by 46 runs in the previous round.
In the other clash, Staithes will be looking to the likes of all-rounder Simon Bowes and bowler Paul Theaker to steer them to victory, while Ebberston will probably look to their rising bowling stars Reece Milner, Frankie Beal and Jordan Welford.
The area final will be played on Sunday June 12, and the winner of this clash would then go through to the last 32, the first of the national rounds, with the final being played on Sunday September 4 at Lord's.
