Flixton and Scarborough 2nds both upset the odds in their games, defeating the leaders in their respective divisions in the York & District Senior Cricket League.

Flixton had the tougher task, with division one leaders Bridlington having batted first and made 202-9 in their clash.

Former Flamborough Simon Leeson continued his rich vein of form with a classy 65, with valuable knocks from ex-Sewerby man Sam Edmundson, 32, Nick Tennant, 39, and former Scarborough junior player John Major, 26.

Neil Elvidge, another ex-Scarborough player, top-scored with a powerful 83 as Flixton successfully chased down the Brid score for the loss of just five wickets.

Harry Walmsley smacked 44 and Nick Zakrzewski 37 for the victors in the face of top bowling from Steve Janney, 3-38.

Scarborough 2nds moved away from the division three south relegation zone with a seven-wicket win at leaders Fenners 2nds.

C Harrison, with 28, was the only visiting batsman to impress as Scarborough dismissed the pacesetters for 94.

Fourth-wicket pair Joe Padmore, 35no, and Tom Bruce, 32no, saw the North Marine Road club safely home from only 22.3 overs.
